Sheffield United´s record signing Claude Davis will miss the start of the season and may not play until mid-September due to a knee cartilage injury.Davis joined the Blades from Preston in a deal potentially worth £3million, but has been ruled out for up to six weeks after sustaining his injury in Tuesday´s friendly against Notts County at Meadow Lane.According to United, Davis may require an operation before being ready to return to action in the Barclays Premiership.
