Former Derby defender Claude Davis has signed a two-year deal with Championship rivals Crystal Palace.

The Jamaica international, 30, had his contract at Pride Park terminated by mutual consent over the weekend.

Warnock said: "I had him at Sheffield United and made him a millionaire there so he owes me one. He has had his contract cancelled up at Derby so he's free to come and sign now and he will be good."

Davis made 31 appearances for the Rams after joining the club from Sheffield United for £3million in July 2007.

He played seven games for Palace during a loan spell towards the end of last season and the centre-half also played under Eagles boss Neil Warnock at Bramall Lane.
