I honestly believe they can do it....

Bristol City have been the surprise package of the Championship this season, with the Robins currently lying in second place, behind West Brom only on goal difference. And manager Gary Johnson has moved to strengthen his squad by signing Coventry striker Dele Adebola for an undisclosed fee. Johnson said this of the 32-year-old: "We've been looking for a player in his mould for some time and there aren't many out there. He's proved in two games against us this season that he is still very strong and a good athlete and he will definitely enhance our squad." Givemefootball's Mark Shail logged the thoughts of Adebola ahead of what could be his debut tomorrow at Queens Park Rangers.

Q:WAS IT A TOUGH DECISION LEAVING COVENTRY?

A:It was a very easy decision to make. To be honest, I had better offers from other clubs but I never wanted to go anywhere else. Once I heard Bristol City were interested in me, I knew where I wanted to be. I'm not interested in the money, I want to play in the Premier League and this club has a great chance of getting there.

Q:SO YOU THINK PROMOTION IS A REAL POSSIBILITY?

A:I honestly believe they can do it. They have a great set of lads, play very attractive football and have done brilliantly to still be in the top three in the table at this stage of the season.

Q:YOU WERE ACTUALLY IN THE TOP FLIGHT WITH BIRMINGHAM IN 2001, BUT INJURY MEANT YOU WERE UNABLE TO START A GAME IN THE PREMIERSHIP?

A:It was very frustrating to get to the Premiership and then not be able to play. Going up from the Championship was a great feeling and it gave the whole city a lift. But then I got injured and things just didn't work out for me. To go back to the Premier League and play there for a club like Bristol City would be a dream come true. I may be 32, but I am still very ambitious and I want to play at the highest level possible before I hang up my boots.

Q:WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE BRISTOL CITY?

A:By the time I walked out of Gary Johnson's office, I was buzzing. Gary sold the club to me really well and I can't wait to get on the pitch at Ashton Gate and show the supporters what I can do. I've swapped a club that has no chance of going up this season for one that is joint top. These are exciting times at Bristol City and it didn't take me very long at all to decide I wanted to sign.

Q:WHEN DID YOU FIRST LEARN OF CITY'S INTEREST?

A:I first heard of their interest a few weeks ago, but it didn't look as though anything was going to happen. Then things started moving very quickly and it only took a couple of days to get everything sorted out.

Q:ARE YOU HOPING TO START AT QPR TOMORROW?

A:I've come here to play a part, but I can't expect to get in the side straight away. The boys here have been doing really well and I'm going to have to bide my time, work very hard and see what happens.
