Derby defender Jay McEveley has been hit with a two-match suspension following his red card in the ill-tempered home defeat to Swansea.

The 24-year-old was sent off for two bookable offences after 65 minutes of Saturday's 1-0 reverse at Pride Park.

That triggered an automatic one-match suspension but an extra game's ban has been added as it was McEveley's second red card of the season, having been dismissed during a goalless draw at Newcastle in December.

McEveley will miss the Championship games at West Brom at the weekend and at home to Watford on March 6. Dean Moxey is likely to deputise at full-back in his absence.
