Bob Dowie has left his role as director of football at Crystal Palace "with immediate effect".Dowie joined the club when his brother Iain took over as manager in December 2003 and remained even when Iain left to take over at Charlton during the summer.A short statement on the club´s official website read: "Chairman Simon Jordan would like to wish Bob all the best for the future, and place on record his thanks for his efforts during his employment at the club."
