Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has handed a trial to Yassin Moutaouakil.

The 24-year-old right-back is available after his contract at Charlton was terminated by mutual consent earlier this summer.

Moutaouakil, a former France Under-21 captain, signed for the Addicks in June 2007, but having failed to settle at the club was sent on loan to Scottish Premier League side Motherwell at the start of last season.

He returned to the Valley at the start of this year before eventually parting ways with the London club in June having made a total of 29 appearances.

Moutaouakil is likely to feature in Tuesday night's friendly at Welsh Premier League side Haverfordwest County.

His arrival fuels speculation about defender Angel Rangel's future at the Liberty Stadium amid interest from Premier League Blackpool.
