Roberto di Matteo saw his West Brom side cruise to a 4-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough and admitted his team were not "doing too badly" in the Coca-Cola Championship.
Simon Cox's first-half double helped the Baggies to a comfortable victory at Hillsborough, with Jerome Taylor and Chris Brunt also on the scoresheet as Albion remained within two points of league leaders Newcastle.
Di Matteo said: "We put in another great performance, and really we managed to finish off the game in the first half with the third goal."
He added: "I have been here for five months and I still believe there is a lot of work to do, but I don't think we are doing too badly.
"Newcastle have a budget of £45million and we are only two points behind them."
