Birmingham chairman David Gold has pinpointed midfielder Neil Kilkenny as "a possible future star" after his impressive first-team baptism.Former Arsenal trainee Kilkenny was given his senior chance after a crippling injury list left Blues manager Steve Bruce short of options in the centre of the park. The likes of David Dunn, Stephen Clemence and Muzzy Izzet are now in contention for a first-team recall after lengthy injury lay-offs to bolster second-from-bottom City. But Gold said: "One of the few positives to have come out of this terrible period for the club has been the emergence of a young man who was man of the match in our last home game with Everton. Neil Kilkenny has been superb and his rise to prominence has almost been like us going out and buying a new player. He has emerged as a possible future star."
