Reading midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson is looking for a move away from the Madejski Stadium in January, according to his agent.

The 34-year-old Iceland international wants regular first-team football having been used sporadically this term under Brendan Rogers.

His agent Olafur Gardarsson told Sky Sports: "We will see if we can find a move for Brynjar in January as he is used to playing regularly - but he has only played in half the games this season."

He added: "There is interest in Brynjar from England and Scandinavia but he would prefer to stay in England."

Meanwhile, fellow Icelander and Royals skipper Ivar Ingimarsson has sparked exit fears after he rejected a new 12-month contract.

The defender will be a free agent at the end of the season but he is hoping for a longer deal.
