Coventry midfielder Aron Gunnarsson suffered a suspected broken wrist in the Sky Blues 1-0 home defeat to Plymouth.

The Icelander sustained the injury following a second-half collision with Argyle defender Mathias Doumbe.

It is not yet known how long Gunnarsson will be out for. He is set for X-rays to determine the extent of the damage.

The 19-year-old would miss the Championship clash at Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend in any event after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season against Plymouth. He must serve a one-match suspension.

"He had a bad fall on it and landed heavily on it. We need to see what the x-rays say but we are pretty sure it is broken. It all depends on which bone," said Coventry boss Chris Coleman.

"Maybe he can have a cast on or strapping to enable him to play but we won't know until we get the report back."
