Preston manager Alan Irvine is delighted to have bolstered his midfield options after securing Watford`s Lee Williamson on loan for the rest of the season.
With Barry Nicholson and Richard Chaplow hampered by injuries, Irvine was keen to add more strength to his midfield as North End look to snatch a play-off place.
"He is a player who has always impressed me," Irvine told the club`s official website. "I`m hoping he does as well for us as he has done in the games I`ve seen him play for Watford."
He added: "He`s an all-round midfield player, someone who can get forward but someone who is prepared to do the defensive jobs and I`m hoping he strengthens us in that department.
"We`ve now got a week in which to show him how we do things, a week for him to get used to the players as well."
