Reading full back Liam Rosenior says he is ready to stand up and be counted should tonight’s play-off semi final against Burnley be decided by a penalty shoot-out.

The England Under 21 international has failed to score for the Royals so far this season but he will be offering his services if spot kicks are required.

“In terms of the importance of my career and for my family’s life, this is by far the biggest game of my life,” he said.

“But if you think about it in those terms you are not going to perform. You can’t look at the consequences, you have to concentrate on your own actions and the consequences follow after that.

“I am going to try to be positive and add my influence to the team and hope that can help see us through.

“You have to be confident and I am a confident person. I have taken penalties before and if it comes down to penalties I will be ready to take one.”

Reading will be without defender Andre Bikey after his sending off in the first leg, while striker Kevin Doyle is also out after picking up an Achilles injury.
