Derby manager Paul Jewell is confident Roy Carroll has been "worth the wait", after the goalkeeper finally completed his move to Pride Park.

The Rams brought one of January´s longest-running transfer sagas to a conclusion on Thursday by finally completing a deal with Rangers for the goalkeeper, who has signed until the end of the season.

"It has been a protracted deal but I believe it will be worth the wait because Roy is a great pro and he will come straight into contention for Saturday´s game at Birmingham." said Jewell.
