Ipswich boss Paul Jewell is in the market for a new goalkeeper this week after Marton Fulop joined West Brom on a free transfer on Saturday evening.

Fulop signed for the Premier League outfit on a one-year deal, making his Baggies debut in Sunday`s 1-1 pre-season draw against Parma. Jewell has already brought in David Stockdale this summer on a season-long loan from Fulham but his deal includes a recall clause.

The Town boss is also stepping up his search for a centre-back having seen his threadbare ranks further depleted by a knock to Damien Delaney, which has forced the Republic of Ireland international to withdraw from his country`s squad for Wednesday`s friendly against Croatia.

Jewell told Ipswich`s official website: "We will be trying to bring in a couple of players this week. We`re looking for a goalkeeper and a centre-back because we`re light in those areas, but there are also a couple of other areas in the team that I`m looking to strengthen.

"It`s ongoing and I`m hoping by the end of the week we will have one, if not two new players in."

He added: "We wish Marton well. To be fair to him he does want to play regularly and he will push Ben Foster (West Brom`s number one) all the way. He`s a good goalkeeper but it was a deal which we felt was right for us and the player wanted to do it as well."
