Cardiff manager Dave Jones has dismissed talk of Adam Matthews signing for Manchester United as "speculation".

Reports on Friday linked the 17-year-old full-back, who was recently called up to Wales` senior squad after breaking into the Bluebirds` first team at the start of the season, with a January switch to Old Trafford.

But Jones told the club`s official website: "I don`t respond to speculation. We`ve had no offers for Adam."

He added: "We are going to have interest in any good player. Last week it was Sunderland coming in for Whitts (Peter Whittingham), before that it was Aston Villa interested in Jay (Bothroyd).

"Every week I'm hearing questions about where my players are going, but they are still here."
