Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury would consider extending his loan spell at Watford until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has made a big impression at Vicarage Road, scoring twice in 14 appearances and is leaning towards staying on with Malky Mackay's side.

He told Arsenal's official website: "I'm not sure how long I will be there. The clubs are still speaking so I need to speak to the boss about that. But I just want to go out and play really so I would be happy to stay at Watford for longer."

The England Under-21 international was a regular in the Gunners' Carling Cup line-up last term and admits the prospect of their forthcoming quarter-final at Manchester City is tempting.

He added: "There is a bit of an ache there because I'd like to be part of the Carling Cup run but I just want to play football. I just wanted to get some more games under my belt and more experience. That's what I am doing at Watford and hopefully it will continue."
