Birmingham midfielder Sebastian Larsson has revealed that discussions over a new contract have yet to be resolved.

The Sweden international was close to quitting the club last summer following Blues' relegation, but the 23-year-old is now keen to have another stint in the Premier League after his side gained promotion back into the top flight.

But the former Arsenal man continues to face an uncertain future at St Andrew's and he told Fotbollskanalen: "I want to play in the Premier League. Nothing has happened. We have had discussions for some time."

He added: "I've told them that I wish to concentrate on the upcoming (World Cup) qualifier first and then talk about it. Last season started badly since I had my thoughts on other places but then it got better and better."

Newcastle, Blackburn and Wigan have been linked with Larsson but he is unaware of any interest. He added: "I actually don't know. I haven't discussed that with the people around me. We will have to look at that after the qualifiers."
