Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws insists stability is vital if the Owls are to push up the Championship table.
Laws, who this week signed a contract extension along with his assistant Russ Wilcox to stay at Hillsborough until 2011, aims to help the club move forward.
"I`d like to thank the club, the board and the chief executive for sorting it out quickly, but for also addressing some of the things we talked about. A lot of things are going on at the football club, but the important thing is stability," Laws told the club`s official website.
"I`ve come here right from the offset to take Sheffield Wednesday as high as I can and try to get them into the top league.
"Now I know things have changed since I first came here - we`re working very strongly in trying to be progressive.
"I know the club are aggressively looking for new investment and that`s made very clear and also the fact that that`s plan A. If that doesn`t work we have a plan B in place where we are looking to re-strengthen, re-group and look forward to a solid season next year."
