Ipswich have signed goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barrett on a short-term contract.

The 25-year-old, who was born in Ipswich and released by the club at 15, was a regular in Hartlepool's starting line-up last season but was released at the end of the campaign.

He told the club's official website: "With Shane (Supple) leaving this week, I got a call from the manager offering me a chance here and grabbed it."

He added: "It's a great opportunity for me to join a top club. I can only benefit from training alongside Richard Wright but I want to push him for his place as much as I can."
