Lowe calls Wilde to the table

By PA Sport  June 23, 2006
Embattled Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe claims major shareholder Michael Wilde has rejected the offer of peaceful negotiations in a bid to end the power struggle at the Coca-Cola Championship club.

Wilde, the local businessman who has recently bought up a 25% shareholding in Saints, has requisitioned an EGM in a bid to remove Lowe and four of his directors and replace them with his own board.

Lowe claims Leon Crouch, Saints´ second largest shareholder with a holding of around 10%, attempted to broker a meeting between himself and managing director Andrew Cowen, Wilde and consortium member Patrick Trant in an attempt to find some common ground, and that Wilde dismissed the idea.
