Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has confirmed that plans are well underway for a summer of change at Portman Road.

As many as 13 current first-team players are out of contract at the end of the season and Magilton is planning a significant overhaul of his squad as he plans for another promotion challenge.

Magilton told the club's official website: "There will be a lot of changes to the playing staff at this club over the summer."

He added: "We have 13 players out of contract which will naturally see a trimming down of the numbers and there may be other exits as well.

"We are looking at using a smaller squad of 20 to 22 players and have already identified some targets that we want to bring in."
