Crystal Palace defender Paddy McCarthy has been ruled out for three months after having an operation on his shoulder.

McCarthy went under the knife on his troublesome shoulder on Tuesday, which he first dislocated playing against Doncaster last year.

The 26-year-old centre-back has already had an operation on the joint but required further treatment after falling awkwardly during training, which will rule him out until March.
