I'm disappointed we didn't get three points...

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish was disappointed his side did not take all three points from their eagerly anticipated top-of-the-table Championship clash against midlands rivals Wolves.

Blues looked to be heading towards victory after substitute Cameron Jerome took advantage of a poor headed clearance by defender Richard Stearman to fire past Wayne Hennessey shortly after the restart, but Sylvan Ebanks-Blake fired a 74th-minute equaliser to ensure a 1-1 draw.

McLeish, who was celebrating his first year in charge at St Andrew's almost to the day, said: "I'm disappointed we didn't get three points."

He added: "The way we played in the first half, especially. Wolves had a lot of the ball in the second half but we had a lot to contend with.

"(We showed) great spirit and determination. We got in front and could have been more in front by that time, and that always left Wolves with a lifeline."
