Rotherham have agreed a compensation fee with Bristol City for striker Ryan Taylor.

City agreed a three-year deal last month with Taylor, whose contract at Rotherham had expired, but the Millers were entitled to compensation for the 23-year-old.

Rotherham chief operating officer Paul Douglas told the club's official website: "We have negotiated a good deal which we felt adequately compensated Rotherham United."

He added: "Although we were disappointed that Ryan decided to leave the club, we understood his desire to play at a higher level.

"Bristol City were very fair in their dealings with us and I wish Ryan all the best with his new club.

"As a Rotherham lad Ryan has been at the club since he was a schoolboy, ultimately graduating through our very successful youth system and on behalf of everyone associated with the club I would like to thank him for his effort, commitment and professionalism."
