Watford wasted a terrific chance to move within four points of Barclays Premiership safety after they could manage only a 1-1 draw against 10-man Wigan. The Hornets held a one-man advantage from the moment Fitz Hall was harshly shown a straight red card in the 20th minute, and things looked even rosier for Adrian Boothroyd´s team when Darius Henderson gave them the lead four minutes later. But Wigan deservedly drew level through Caleb Folan in the closing stages of the first half, and only a fine save by Ben Foster from Denny Landzaat in the 73rd minute prevented Paul Jewell´s men returning north with the points.
