That price would be out of our range...

West Brom appear likely to be priced out of a move for Victor Moses with the Crystal Palace starlet rated in excess of £5million.

Roberto Di Matteo is an admirer of the 19-year-old winger, who is also attracting the attention of top-flight clubs.

But the Albion chief told the Birmingham Mail: "That price would be out of our range. We have some interest in him but not at those numbers. We can't compete with clubs who pay that kind of money."

The Italian has already brought centre-back Gabriel Tamas and striker Marcus Haber to the club this month and he does not expect much more activity with Ishmael Miller and James Morrison now in the final straight regarding their recoveries.

Leon Barnett is one player who has been linked with a move away from the club with Coventry interested in making his loan move permanent, while Robert Koren has also stressed his desire for regular first-team football.

Di Matteo added: "There's been no more interest in Roko. We are not actively looking to sell him. I'm happy to have him here. As for Leon, when the loan is up we will see whether they want to do something or not. He's quite happy there because he's been playing. And they're happy with him but he's still our player and it depends on our own situation."
