Striker Sam Vokes has returned to Wolves following the completion of his loan spell at Bristol City.

The Wales international's stay at Ashton Gate has been plagued by injury. Vokes suffered a hamstring tear on his debut in the 3-0 home defeat to Millwall on the opening day of the season. He recently tried to make a comeback in the reserves but suffered a setback and has now returned to Molineux with his five-month stint over.

Defender Tom Williams has also left the club. The left-back, who has recently spent time on loan at Colchester, has become a free agent after his contract expired.

"We wish Tom luck in his future career and hopefully Sam will overcome his hamstring problem soon," said City boss Keith Millen. "I`ll keep an eye on his progress back at Wolves. He`s had such rough luck during his time here and I wish him well with his recovery."

Additionally, John Akinde has returned to Ashton Gate following a three-month loan spell at city rivals Bristol Rovers. The striker made 18 appearances for the Pirates but failed to score.
