Steven Naismith believes Scotland can only benefit from having a revitalised Charlie Adam in the squad after successfully managing to resurrect his club career at Blackpool.
But the forward insists he has no plans to follow Adam's lead by quitting Rangers in search of regular first team football south of the border.
"Charlie has got terrific ability and possibly has the best left foot I've seen in a long while," he said. "It's just rewards that he is getting the recognition for the way he has gone down to Blackpool and played so well."
Adam's impressive form in the Coca-Cola Championship earned him a late call into George Burley's squad this week ahead of Saturday's friendly against Wales in Cardiff.
And Naismith acknowledged that the midfielder and himself both now find themselves in the similar position of trying to cement a place in the national fold.
He added: "He is getting on the scoresheet and playing every week and he will be another boy here who wants to show that he can do it.
"He is like myself in that he got a few caps early-doors a couple of years ago and not playing regular football hindered him. Now that he is playing every week, he's got the chance to show the manager what he can do."
But while quitting Rangers proved to be the answer for Adam, Naismith says he has no complaints about his own club career with the Scottish champions.
"Every footballer wants to play every week and I'm no different," he added. "But, at this moment in time, I'm getting my fair share of football and I'm enjoying playing every week and playing in the Champions League. It's great.
"Any footballer who is not playing looks to change that and get playing. A few boys have gone down south from Scottish clubs and done really well for themselves."
