Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll has accused Preston of wasting the club's time with their efforts to capture Martin Woods in the recent transfer window.

North End saw a bid for Woods turned down on deadline day and the 24-year-old featured as a late substitute for Rovers in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at Deepdale.

O'Driscoll said: "I talked to (North End manager) Darren Ferguson and told him Martin had a release clause in his contract, which obviously they knew about. So it was a case of 'offer the money, then the boy can do what he wants, or at least offer something near'. But they never even got anywhere near (an acceptable offer), so it was a complete waste of time."
