Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll has scoffed at reports his club have made a £1million bid for Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford.

O'Driscoll's assistant Richard O'Kelly had suggested last week that Rovers would be interested in signing Beckford, who has refused to sign a new contract at Elland Road.

But O'Driscoll told the Doncaster Free Press: "That's a good one. It would be nice to have that kind of money to spend."

He continued: "We have not made an offer for anyone and nobody has been in for any of our players, which is great."

Beckford, 25, has scored 54 goals in his last two seasons for Leeds and still has a year to run on his current deal with the West Yorkshire club.
