Sheffield Wednesday have parted company with midfielder Kenny Lunt and striker Wade Small.

Both players were out of contract at the end of this season and have had them terminated by mutual consent.

Owls manager Brian Laws said: "I'd like to thank Kenny Lunt and Wade Small for their service to Sheffield Wednesday."

He added: "As we make plans for the future of this club it's inevitable that some players will leave and I wish both players good luck in their future careers."

Lunt has made 48 appearances for the Owls since signing in the summer of 2006 from Crewe, but has not played for the Sheffield Wednesday first team this season, serving his former club on loan during 2009.

Small, who signed in July 2006 from MK Dons, has made 74 appearances, scoring eight goals, but spent the latter part of this season on loan at Blackpool.

Laws, given extra funds for team strengthening this summer, hopes to release his complete retained list by the end of next week.
