Leicester manager Nigel Pearson refused to criticise his players after seeing them squander the chance of a third successive away win after they dominated their Coca-Cola Championship clash at Scunthorpe.

Martyn Waghorn had given the Foxes a flying start when he scored his fourth goal of the season after just two minutes. Leicester should have wrapped up victory but Martyn Woolford scored a goal deep into injury time to claim a point for the Iron and punish the visitors for failing to capitalise on their domination.

Pearson said: "I am disappointed because we had chances in the first half to score more goals. But I am not going to have a go at my players because overall this was another good away performance."

He added: "There was just one ball into the box that we did not deal with - and it has cost us. But we have scored a lot of late goals to win games in recent weeks. It was somebody else's turn to do the same to us."
