Jim Gannon has admitted he has yet to decide whether to remain as Peterborough manager beyond the end of the season after witnessing first hand 'the brutal reality' of the situation at London Road.

Gannon - who is only under contract until the end of the campaign - has yet to meet chairman Darragh MacAnthony in the flesh, but will when the Irishman jets in from Spain for the game with Watford on Saturday.

"It is pencilled in for me to meet when the chairman comes over for a couple of games and the AGM," Gannon said. "I think that is the right time to do it because I have had five or six weeks at the club to assess things. The honeymoon period is over and I am seeing the brutal reality of this club."

He added: "It is a massive job and a massive challenge and I need to have a long conversation with the chairman about his ambitions for the club. I need to know the remit for the remainder of this season and what he wants to achieve in the future.

"Once I know all of that, I will be fully informed to make a decision, but it won't be an easy one. There has been a slow erosion of the squad and a club like ourselves can't afford for that to happen."
