Burnley moved into third place in the Championship by thrashing 10-man Norwich 4-1 at Carrow Road to increase the pressure on Canaries manager Nigel Worthington. The Norwich board released a statement this week demanding an improvement in results after last weekend´s 3-1 reverse at Plymouth but goals from James O´Connor, Alan Mahon and a double from Andy Gray left the crowd calling for Worthington´s head. The Clarets took the lead in the 32nd minute when the impressive Steve Jones sent over a left-wing cross which was well left by Gifton Noel-Williams for O´Connor to sweep home from the penalty spot.
