Manager Alan Pardew believes Charlton´s hopeless position earlier in the season relieved the pressure at The Valley and has now given them a glimmer of hope in their relegation battle. The Addicks looked almost certain to finish in the bottom three of the Barclays Premiership before Pardew took over at Christmas but four points from their last two games has given Charlton hope of escaping the drop."Our fans had accepted that we were in a terrible situation" said Pardew. "Their mindset was ´It will be a big bonus if we stay up´ and I think that mindset is helping."
