Derby are waiting for a decision from Blackburn after launching a bid to sign goalkeeper Frank Fielding.

Nigel Clough is looking for Fielding, who has represented England at both Under-19 and Under-21 level, to step in as number two for Stephen Bywater.

Rams boss Clough told the Derby Telegraph: "We see him as a number two and he fits into what we are trying to do - groom some young players. We are just waiting for a decision back from Blackburn"

The 21-year-old joined Rovers as a youngster as has enjoyed loan spells at Wycombe, Northampton and Rochdale in recent seasons.

Fielding's possible arrival would likely see Roy Carroll, 31, depart Pride Park in search of more regular first-team action. Goalkeeper Lewis Price has already joined Brentford on a season-long loan deal while former Burton stopper Saul Deeney is also currently training with County.
