Bristol City have today announced the signing of West Bromwich Albion's Chris Wood, on a loan deal until the end of the season.

This represents Wood's second loan spell of the current campaign after the New Zealand international spent the first half of the season at Birmingham City.

He enjoyed a fruitful time in the West Midlands, becoming the clubs top scorer with 10 goals in 28 games before he returned to parent club Albion for the weekend's FA Cup tie with Cardiff.

But now West Brom have given another opportunity for the 20-year-old from Auckland to showcase his goal scoring ability in the second-tier with Bristol City.

Robins' boss Derek McInnes said of the signing: "He's a big lad, with good feet and he's already shown himself to be a proven goalscorer at Championship level."

The striker, who even featured at the last World Cup in South Africa for New Zealand, is hoping to be involved for the Robins' trip to face Brighton; one of his former loan clubs, at the AMEX Stadium on Saturday.
