Barnsley boss Mark Robins has admitted the decision not to risk Jon Macken in Saturday`s Coca-Cola Championship against Plymouth proved to be a wise one.
Macken suffered a minor calf injury in the warm-up at Home Park and was withdrawn from the Tykes line-up, with Andy Gray starting in his place. The game was subsequently abandoned after 58 minutes, with Barnsley 4-1 up, meaning the game will have to be replayed at a later date.
Robins said: "Jon got injured in the warm-up and he got a slight problem with his calf so the decision was right to just bring him out with the amount of games we have got coming up. That was the right decision to make to be fair and obviously with the game not counting now it was a great decision."
