Doncaster have taken Barrow's Jason Walker on trial after the striker impressed during Saturday's friendly between the sides at Holker Street.

Rovers beat the Blue Square Premier side 2-0 at the weekend but the 25-year-old, who has Football League experience at Morecambe, did enough during the game for boss Sean O'Driscoll to offer him the chance to train with the Championship outfit.

"Jason has been at a pro club in the past and there are various reasons why players drop down a couple of divisions and sometimes it gives players a kick up the backside that they need," assistant boss Richard O'Kelly told the Star.

"Jason's very aggressive and looks to get at people and was forever working our back four. He's got a tremendous leap and he looked a decent footballer and is quite intelligent with his movement."
