The Football Association have rejected Scunthorpe's appeal against Cliff Byrne's dismissal in the 2-0 defeat at West Brom last Saturday.
Byrne was sent off for the second time this season for a challenge on Andy Slory four minutes from time - a decision manager Nigel Adkins described as "very disappointing".
But at an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, a wrongful dismissal claim was rejected and he will serve a two-match suspension.
