Blackpool came from behind to beat Newcastle and end their unbeaten start to the Coca-Cola Championship season at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders dominated the majority of the game but despite forcing Steve Harper in the Newcastle goal into a string of early saves, they fell behind to an Andy Carroll header six minutes before the break.

Brett Ormerod deservedly levelled in first-half stoppage time when he hit home from close range and Jason Euell secured the three points for the home side, smashing in a loose ball midway through the second period.

Cardiff got their Coca-Cola Championship campaign back on track at the Madejski Stadium as Reading's wretched home form continued with a 1-0 defeat.

Chris Burke's second-half goal settled the contest in favour of the Welsh side who finished with 10 men following Stephen McPhail's red card.

After back-to-back defeats to Doncaster and Newcastle, Cardiff climbed up to fourth.
