Paul Simpson is set to be named as the new manager of Coca-Cola Championship Preston.Simpson, currently Carlisle boss, will officially be unveiled at a press conference at Deepdale on Monday as the replacement for Billy Davies - who left to join league rivals Derby. The 39-year-old led the Cumbrians to promotion from League Two last season and although Carlisle were keen to retain his services they were unable to convince Simpson to remain at Brunton Park.A statement on the Carlisle website, www.carlisleunited.premiumtv.co.uk read: "The board of Carlisle are disappointed to lose such a good manager as Paul Simpson but we are very grateful for the part he has played at the club and the team´s progress made under his management."
