Bristol City midfielder Cole Skuse has highlighted the form of striker Nicky Maynard as being the key reason behind the club's fine start to the season.

The Robins are seventh in the Championship and boast an unbeaten home record, with Maynard scoring 10 goals already to boost his burgeoning reputation.

"Nicky has been excellent for us this season and last season as well," said Skuse. "He maybe didn't get the goals that his play deserved last season but he's got them this season."

He added: "His link-up play and his movement is excellent and it makes it easier for the team when he's scoring goals."
