Sheffield Wednesday striker Akpo Sodje has been loaned to Charlton Athletic in a bid to play first team football and build match fitness.

The 28-year-old has been limited to substitute appearances for the Owls this season and manager Brian Laws feels he will benefit from a loan switch to the League One club.

"We all know that Akpo can be a real threat when he is on top form and I think a loan move could get him back to his best," Laws told the club`s official website.

Sodje's 28-day loan is set to run until December 11.
