Watford's England Under-21 international Marvin Sordell has assured Hornets fans that he is not seeking a transfer this January.

The 20-year-old striker has been in sizzling form for Sean Dyche's side this season, scoring 10 goals in all competitions, and rumours circulated that Barclays Premier League clubs are preparing bids for his signature.

Sordell said of the situation: "Speculation is flattering to be honest, but at the end of the day I need to keep my head down and keep playing football and that's what I intend to do."

The player has been a revelation at Vicarage Road since returning from a loan at Tranmere Rovers in April 2010 and forged a fruitful partnership with the since departed Danny Graham during the 2010-11 season.

This season he has been on the front line with either Troy Deeney or Chris Iwelumo, for a Watford side who will again look to survive and consolidate in England's second-tier.

The Hornets currently lie 18th in the Championship and will need the goals of Sordell to maintain their targets.
