Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan has revealed he is already preparing for the January transfer window.

The Scot, who has claimed just a single point from his first three games in charge, has drafted in midfielder Isaiah Osbourne and strikers Marcus Bent and Dave Kitson on loan as he attempts to get the club's promotion charge back on track.

"As a manager, you are always thinking and I would be a strange manager if I wasn't thinking about the January window," said Strachan.

Strachan will hope to have his resources boosted for this Saturday's trip to Peterborough by Marvin Emnes' return from illness, although Chris Riggott remains some way away from first-team action after two bouts of ankle surgery.
