Hull City are attempting their third successive promotion in a row. If that is to happen then last season's leading scorer Stuart Elliott will have to find that same prolific goalscoring form. So far the Northern Ireland International has not scored but he tells givemefootball’s Lawrie Madden that it is only a matter of time after Hull secured an away point at Sheffield Wednesday.
Q:A FAIR RESULT AGAINST WEDNESDAY
A:I thought we were the better team, especially in the first half when we didn't want the half to end, but they finished the stronger. But I suppose it's a good draw away from home.
Q:WHAT ABOUT YOUR CHANCE THAT GOT AWAY LATE ON?
A:I expected to score the winner and nine times out of ten I would have, but it caught the back of my boot. It's no good dwelling on the chance and it's only a matter of time before I get off the mark. I have always scored goals wherever I have been. Last season I scored two goals in my second game and that breeds confidence so I am confident that the goals will come.
Q:TWO DRAWS TO START, BUT IT WILL BE NICE TO GET YOUR FIRST WIN UNDER THE BELT?
A:It is important to get your first win because it breeds confidence and that has shown over the last two seasons, but we have moved up a level and it is important not to get beat and so far we are looking solid at the back.
Q:WHAT ARE YOUR EARLY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS DIVISION?
A:It's quite hard, a physical division with some very good players. With so many foreign players playing in the Premiership, you are getting the cream of English players playing in the Championship so the standard is very good.
Q:IT MUST BE GOOD TO BE A 'BIG CLUB' AMONGST OTHER BIG CLUBS?
A:Hull is a massive club but we are playing against some big clubs. It is a bit strange because over the last two seasons every team that has come to the KC Stadium it has been a cup final, but not this season.
Q:WHAT'S A REALISTIC TARGET FOR THIS SEASON?
A:To stay in this division. We are not on the same budget as other teams so to stay in this division would be a great achievement. The fans too are realistic.
Q:WITH INTERNATIONALS ON THE HORIZON, IT'S GOING TO BE A HECTIC TIME FOR YOU?
A:It's a busy month because we play Malta in a friendly and we are playing two games a week and then in September we have World Cup games. But I have 27 caps for Northern Ireland and I want to add to them because I love playing International football.
