Swansea midfielder Leon Britton has indicated he would be interested in a move to Barclays Premier League side Wigan.

It was revealed at the weekend that former Swans boss Roberto Martinez had been discussing a possible transfer with chairman Huw Jenkins. And Britton, who is out of contract in the summer, has revealed that he would be interested by the chance to play in the top-flight.

He told the Swansea Evening Post: "I'm 27 now and playing in the Premier League is something I have always worked hard to achieve."

He added: "I've done everything I can to try to get there. It's the best league in the world and I'd like to play there.

"Obviously Roberto knows me well. So he knows what I'm capable of. It's always nice to know that he likes me as a player and that he has made an enquiry to the club about my availability."
