Swansea will be able to welcome back defender Angel Rangel for the televised clash with Newcastle.

The full-back has been out of action with an ankle injury and was close to making the midweek win at Crystal Palace but failed a late test.

However, he is now fully fit and available to return to Paulo Sousa's squad.

The Swans, who are now six points clear of seventh-placed Sheffield United in the table, did not pick up any fresh injuries at Selhurst Park so Sousa will have the same set of players to choose from.

Cedric van der Gun is nearing a return from the hamstring injury that has kept him out since the beginning of January, but the Dutch forward is unlikely to feature against Chris Hughton's men.

Striker Craig Beattie will definitely not be involved due to an ankle problem, while defender Albert Serran remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Argentina international Fabricio Coloccini returns to the Newcastle squad.

Defender Coloccini missed both the 5-1 victory over Cardiff and the 3-0 defeat at Derby with a hamstring injury, but has been declared fit for the game at the Liberty Stadium.

Ryan Taylor also sat out the game at Pride Park with a similar problem, but he should be available once again as Chris Hughton's men look to bounce back from a first league defeat in 16 games and one which saw them slip from the top of the table.

But left-back Jose Enrique, who damaged a hamstring during the 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace on January 27, is still out, as is Nicky Butt, who has missed the last two games with a thigh injury.
