Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele has been banned for one game following his controversial dismissal at Newcastle last week.
Steele was deemed by referee Grant Hegley to have brought down Newcastle winger Peter Lovenkrands in Saturday's 6-1 defeat at St James' Park and was shown a straight red card with the scores at 0-0.
Lovenkrands converted the subsequent penalty and afterwards Tykes manager Mark Robins claimed the incident had proved the game's turning point as his 10 men went on to capitulate.
Robins insisted Steele had not made contact with Lovenkrands - the Dane later revealed he was unsure - and hinted he would appeal against the sending off.
However, Barnsley opted against an appeal and the Football Association have confirmed Steele must serve a one-match ban, meaning he will miss Saturday's home clash with Crystal Palace.
